Is SunTour XCR any good?
5.0 out of 5 stars Smooth Riding Ahead. Excellent fork, saved a few ounces from the factory one. Very smooth ride and takes a beating. I don’t do any hardcore trails but do ride off road quite a bit and for a big guy (260lbs) this shock works perfectly!

The Suntour XCT fork comes on most entry level frames, and on a little more expensive ones, the XCM is standard. Are they honestly that bad for a beginner? They are for “leisure cross country” riding. They are utterly terrible and I honestly think you’d be better off learning on a rigid fork.
