How long is the NBME Step 1 Self Assessment?
With 1 minute and 30 seconds theoretically allotted to each question, you have 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete each section and 5 hours total for the whole exam. The actual Step 1 exam is comprised of 7 sections of 40 question blocks, corresponding to 1 hour per section (7 hours total).

Is UWorld self assessment Step 1 accurate?
UWorld doesn’t. The NBME practice exams will accurately estimate your three-digit Step 1 score (with a +/- 10 point margin of error). UWorld question blocks won’t. (Not to mention, the UWorld self assessment exams actually inflate your predicted USMLE score by 20 points!)
Which NBME is the easiest?
Based off of how many questions it takes to reach a passing score, you could argue that NBME 16 is the easiest, since they sent my analysis of my students have taken the test, you need to get the most questions correct just to achieve a passing score (in other words, each question is worth the least).

Once you take a practice NBME, you will have unlimited access to your interactive score report on MyNBME. You will also have the option to review each question, option set, and correct answer. Make sure that you are using this review process in the right way.
Which NBME Step 2 CK is best?
NBME self-assessment form 7 is essentially the gold standard NBME for Step 2 CK. I specify NBME, as the UWorld SIMs for Step 2 are much more predictive than any of the NBMEs. That being said, NBME Form 7 is the perfect test to sandwich in between the two UWorld SIMs.
Is NBME easier than UWorld?
My usmle was like a slightly easier version of Uworld. I was scoring in the 230’s on the NBME practice tests I took and I scored in the upper 250’s and low 260s on the UWAs. I got in the 250’s on the real thing. I don’t think NBMEs are harder than the real test, but the scoring on those tests are too harsh.
